Understanding Your Child's Vision

Vision as an infant and toddler:

Did you know that your child’s vision is not fully developed as an infant? The human eye constantly changes throughout life but in the first 7 years, your child is undergoing some of the most important changes that will impact them for rest of their lives. That is why it is very important to bring your child to an eye doctor within their first year to prevent any delay or hindrance to their vision. What sort of things can occur?

  • Refractive states such as:
  • Hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism

  • Ocular conditions such as:
  • Retinoblastoma
  • Strabismus
  • Nystagmus
  • Amblyopia
  • And other pathologic conditions.

The profession of optometry has been involved in saving the sight of infants and toddlers for generations. The InfantSEE program is a great opportunity to do just that. Plus it's free! Just as long as though you bring your child within their first year of life between 6 months and 12 months. So what are you waiting for? Find where your local pediatric optometrist is today!
